The Willard Munger State Trail

The Willard Munger state trail starts right behind the Willard Munger Inn. If we were any closer to the trail we would be right on it! If Snowmobiling is your thing, you can connect with the North Shore Trail going north or connect to almost anywhere else you want to go in other directions.

The Western Waterfront Trail

Located just behind the Munger Inn-2 blocks by trail. This trail is great for birding and watching wild life such as deer, ducks and geese and beavers. We are grooming this trail on an experimental basis for classical skiing beginning the snow season. The trail can be accesses right behind the Willard Munger Inn from the Willard Munger Trail Parking lot. This is a restricted trail and is not accessible to Snowmobiles. The trail length is about 2 miles and is an excellent trail for beginner cross country skiers or for anyone who wants to get out for a short ski.

Duluth Western Hillside Trails
Starts at the Lake Superior Zoo, right across the street from the Willard Munger Inn. Many of these trails also connect with the Munger Trail and are nice for birding and for their remoteness. Maps are available in the Munger Inn office.
